Then ride wherever the forecast favours. For most riders that is Ria de Alvor, about 20 minutes from the shop.

Drop everything back at Lagos Wake Park. We rinse and check it in — you are done.

WHY RENT FROM KITESURFWAKE
KitesurfWake is the wingfoil shop in Lagos renting to independent riders by the day or by the week, with no spot restrictions anywhere in the Algarve — hard carbon foil boards, current North Nova Pro wings and advanced front wings from 850 to 1050 with a choice of mast lengths, rather than a school’s beginner fleet.

Hard boards, not just inflatables
One of the few in the Algarve renting hard carbon foil boards, so you progress past the big beginner boards.
WHO CAN RENT
Our wingfoil gear goes out to independent riders who can handle it safely. To rent, you need to:
Be 18 or older
Rentals are for adults — bring photo ID when you pick up.
Be an independent rider
Prior foil experience, or a strong background in kitesurfing, windsurfing or surfing. Not there yet? Ask about a lesson with our partner school.
Sign the rental agreement
A short rental agreement covers care and damage — read it before you come in.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I rent just a wing, or just the board and foil?+
Yes. Wing only is €35/day (€150 for 5 days) — ideal if you travel with your own foil. Board and foil setup (no wing) is €50/day (€220 for 5 days). Full setup is €80/day (€340 for 5 days). Just tell us what you need when you WhatsApp.
What wing sizes do you have?+
Our rental wings are 4.2, 5.0 and 5.4 m². As a rough guide: 5.4 m² for 13–22 knots and heavier riders, 5.0 m² for 16–25 knots, and 4.2 m² for 20–30 knots and lighter riders. Tell us your weight and the forecast and we will have the right one ready before you arrive.
What safety gear do I need?+
An impact vest is strongly recommended — please bring your own as we do not provide these. Helmets are available to borrow from us at no charge. We recommend wearing both, especially for your first sessions on foil gear.
Do I need experience to rent wingfoil gear?+
Yes — wingfoiling is not a beginner sport. We require prior experience on a foil or a strong background in kitesurfing, windsurfing, or surfing. You must be 18 or over. Not sure if you qualify? Message us and we will give you an honest answer.
Which setup is right for my weight and level?+
WhatsApp us your weight, skill level, and expected wind. We will pick the right board volume, wing size, and front wing from our fleet — so everything is waiting for you when you arrive. As a rough guide: under 75 kg and advanced → 58 L board; 70–90 kg intermediate → 98 L; 80+ kg or learning → 120 L inflatable.
What wind do I need for wingfoiling?+
Typically 12–20 knots is ideal. Lagos and Meia Praia get consistent thermal winds from May to September — afternoons build reliably to 15–20 kn. We check the forecast with you before confirming your booking.
Where can you go wingfoiling near Lagos?+
Anywhere you like — the gear is yours for the day and there are no spot restrictions. But in most cases we recommend Ria de Alvor, a shallow flat-water lagoon 20 minutes west. Better wind over the lagoon than in front of Lagos, forgiving water, and an easy launch. Meia Praia, the main beach of Lagos, is about 10 minutes from the shop — but the wind there is side-offshore to offshore, so we only send riders who are comfortable getting back upwind. What if there is no wind?+
We check forecasts daily. If conditions are genuinely unsuitable when you arrive, we reschedule at no charge. We will always call you the morning of your rental if it looks like a no-wind day.
What should I bring?+
Board shorts or a swimsuit — add a wetsuit (+€5/day) if you want coverage. Bring your own impact vest if you have one. Helmets available to borrow. Sunscreen and payment (cash or card). That is it.
